The full guide

A dog-owner's guide to MegaBox

MegaBox is a Kowloon Bay destination where the dog plan starts with a covered carrier or stroller. Domesticated dogs and cats may enter, but they stay contained indoors and on the mall shuttle, except guide dogs. The L4 Pets Playground is the designated ground area. It opens from 11am to 6pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, provided weather and events allow it. That makes a weekend visit easier to plan than a weekday one.

Restaurants and individual tenants retain their own rules. A mall carrier rule is not permission to take a dog into every food premises, so check the chosen restaurant before setting out. G/F concierge lends pet strollers. Dogs of 20kg or more need a secure muzzle and a leash no longer than 1.5m, and cannot use the shuttle.

Parking depends on level: L5 to L16 is HK$25 hourly on weekdays and HK$26 at weekends and public holidays; the basement is HK$28 and HK$29. There is an HK$80 night rate. Spending can earn one or two hours, and qualifying restaurant spend can add an hour, but offers are generally not combinable and must be redeemed before exit. Use MegaBox for a contained indoor visit and, when open, a defined L4 dog break.

Restaurant planning can start with the DogDogHK directory records whose addresses match MegaBox: California Pizza Kitchen, Khao San, PHI Coffee & Pancake, RAKURAKU RAMEN, The Matcha Tokyo. These records are useful leads because they place the venues in the same mall, and they let you narrow down a meal before travelling. They are not a promise of pet admission. A restaurant may have a separate policy, a particular seating arrangement, or a day-to-day operational restriction. Contact the venue before relying on it, then bring the carrier or stroller required for the common areas. This matters even where a mall has a broader pet-friendly programme: the restaurant decision belongs to the restaurant.

A sensible order is to choose one of those listed venues, check its current dog arrangement, and only then time shopping, the outdoor break and parking redemption around that booking or walk-in. If the answer is no, the mall can still be useful for the non-dining parts of the visit. The address match gives a concrete shortlist without turning an unverified access detail into a claim.
